As a researcher, it is essential to understand sampling methods when creating or evaluating research. For this week’s main post, complete a literature search for one peer-reviewed article (quantitative) in which probability sampling was used and another (either quantitative or qualitative) in which nonprobability sampling was used to sample.
- For each article, identify and describe the target and accessible populations as well as the study samples.
- Discuss the sampling methodologies and specific techniques used in each article and whether you think these were appropriate for the studies.
- Include references with a direct link to both articles or attach the article to your main post for review by your classmate’s and faculty.
- Identify if the articles were reviewed by an institutional review board (IRB) and discuss the role of the IRB in research ethics.
References are to be from peer-reviewed journals and not older than 5 years age.
