Case-Study in Diversity

There are many benefits associated with managing using a proactive approach–as opposed to a reactive approach–with regards to diversity. Unfortunately, many organizations have been reactive in terms of their diversity policies and practices as opposed to being proactive.

For this assignment, complete the following:

  1. Select an international organization that has recently been in the news for discriminatory workplace behaviors.
  2. Provide a brief background about the organization. Then, explain what occurred in this organization in regard to discriminatory workplace behaviors. Detail the parties involved, settlement information (if applicable), etc.
  3. Explain the direct and indirect costs that these behaviors/actions took on the individuals and the workplace.
  4. Discuss how these issues could have been prevented through the use of HR policies and practices.
