Content Areas Require Educators Could Someone Edi

Exceptional readers are usually phonemically aware, vocabulary, grammar skills, and relating reading to their own experiences and applying these skills in a timely and fluent manner and relating reading to their own experiences. Active readers usually think beyond the text. These students draw on their knowledge and experience to make sense of what they are reading and these difficulties can impede reading development. Children who have a stimulating literacy experience before entering school have a better chance at succeeding in reading than those that do not. Conversely, the children who are at most risks of problems with reading are lost that lack the stimulating literacy experiences early in their lives.In short, children raised in poverty and those that are limited proficiency in English or their parents may not be good readers. Also, in today’s schools and classrooms, more students are becoming disengaged with reading.One way is to create a literacy-rich environment and activities that grab the attention of all students.

Struggling reading students are failing because most content areas require educators need to find ways to motivate these readers to want to read inside and outside of school. Moreover, these students continue to fail because most content areas require reading skills which are already deficient and which will negatively affect their success in their different classes.

This case study is an investigation into the different ways educators can effectively motivate and engage struggling thirty-third-grade readers in literacy. Within this urban school district located in South Carolina, most these third graders live in homes that are not always conducive to academic success. Moreover, these students face adversities in their lives that cause them to be unmotivated and could lead them to academic difficulty. The study seeks to offer insight into the relationship between literacy strategies in the classroom and student engagement. It will investigate ways in which teachers can create engaging lessons and activities that will help foster literacy development while allowing students to become engaged in the texts they enjoyed reading. By engaging these third graders in literacy and help the students become motivated to read independently both in school and at home. It is essential for these students to find confidence while reading different texts which hopefully will lead to reading improvement and the motivation to read more. The purpose of this study is to investigate and discover strategies that will motivate and engage these third graders who struggle to read.
