Critical Thinking Question: Describe What Drives Quality-Driven Healthcare

The main focus of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA) is to provide more Americans with access to affordable health insurance, improve the quality of healthcare and health insurance, regulate the health insurance industry, and reduce health care spending in the United States (U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, 2017, December 7).

Considering the ACA from a systems thinking perspective, describe how healthcare reform may or may not influence the creation of a quality-driven culture in the healthcare industry.

Do you believe that healthcare reform has been successful in creating quality-driven healthcare? Provide specific examples. If not, provide three quality-specific strategies that might help the healthcare industry meet the ACA objectives.
