For this assignment you are to chose a film on photographer, either narrative or a documentary. From one of the following sources. You need to confirm the film with me in advance. The film must either be a documentary about a photographer or photography or be a narrative film that deeply investigates ideas around photographers, photo-based imagery and representation. Merely having excellent cinematography is not enough.
You will watch the film and do research about the main subject as related to photography. You will be expected to comment on the ideas expressed in the film in relation to what we’ve learned in this class.
Does it seem accurate?
Does it shed new light on photography?
How well was the film made?
You will then create a powerpoint/keynote presentation including still images and clips to present to the rest of the class.
Give the presentation.
Prepare questions and lead a short conversation with the class.
Each presentation and conversation should be between 15 and 20 minutes.
