Apply expectancy Violations Theory to a real life situation of your own experiences. This paper will
describe the situation, the theory, and apply the theory to the situation. To apply a theory, use concepts
from the theory to explain what happened. The theories for this module are listed below.
For example, in the first section of my paper, Ill explain how I met a new friend whom I really like. Ill give details on how we met and got to know each other. In the second section Ill explain my theory, Uncertainty Reduction Theory, by discussing the three prior conditions and list the eight axioms. In the third section I will use the concepts of the theory to explain how my friend and I got to know each other by reducing our uncertainty. Lets say my new friend and I work together, so using the anticipation of future interaction condition, Ill explain how getting to know this new person is important because I will see them again. I can also talk about a few of the axioms and how we used verbal communication, information seeking, and reciprocity to get to know each other. Obviously, this is just a summary and you should follow the length guidelines for the paper.
