Patient safety

Using the clinically relevant, nursing-specific intervention from your PICO assignment submission, conduct an evidence-based literature review that will result in a summary of three, peer-reviewed research articles related to the intervention written within the last 5 years.  You will focus on the goal of determining if the study is credible and if the findings are worthy of being considered for implementation in practice. 

The sources you use for the evidence summary should be from professional, peer-reviewed, primary research sources.  You will not be able to answer all of the questions accurately if you do not have research literature to review. Research articles with design types covered in chapters 9 and 11 should be selected. The designs covered in chapters 13 and 18 will not work for these assignments. These designs include systematic reviews, integrative reviews, meta-analyses, etc. Please do not select these designs as you will not be able to answer the questions and will lose points.

Determining the Level of Evidence of a study indicates the risk of bias as well as the quality of the evidence. Refer to the Level of Evidence table on page 48 of the article:
