Discuss the following: Is/Do you think Stoicism an optimistic or pessimistic philosophy? What does it imply about human free will?

The excepts from Epictetus’ Enchiridion are numbered in our book. Tell the class which one(s) you like the best or dislike the most (or which one(s) you found to be optimistic and which you found to be pessimistic) AND why. Try to incorporate this into your discussion of the questions above.
