What is your earliest encounter with race?

Social institutions are universal in that they serve a purpose. We cannot get rid of them; they will always manifest in some form. There is always a need to make people healthy. There is always a need to produce and rear children. There is always a need to govern the state or protect it from outside forces. All of these are important features of any community.

If race is a social institution, what purpose does it serve? To figure out its purpose, we need to think about how you have encountered it.

First Response: What is your earliest encounter with race? In detail, tell me how you first experienced race in your life. Is it positive or negative?

Second Response: Respond to someone

Third Response: After reviewing other peoples experiences, identify the purpose of race

My story:

” I am from UAE, I did come in USA becuse my study in university”
