Write a letter to your friend sharing your insight into her life as a Mohawk and as a Catholic convert, and trying to convince him/her why you believe she wasor was nota praiseworthy or heroic figure.

Imagine that you are a Mohawk man or woman who knew Catherine Tekakwitha very well before she died. People have started talking about her life, even debating whether she might be a saint. Others have suggested that she betrayed her Mohawk community by cooperating with the French and converting to an outside faith. Because you knew her very well, you have been asked to give your views on her life and whether the praise she was being given was deserved. In particular, one friend has asked you whether or not you think that she deserves to be singled out for special honor (whether by Mohawks and/or Catholics) for living an admirable life. You have a strong opinion on the topic. Write a letter to your friend sharing your insight into her life as a Mohawk and as a Catholic convert, and trying to convince him/her why you believe she was—or was not—a praiseworthy or heroic figure. Your recommendation should be persuasive, but it should be heavily based on evidence about Catherine’s life from the book. (Do not use any outside sources.)
