Write a three-to-four-page review. Integrate some of the ideas we have talked about in class. Remember to address the album from different places: historically, musically, recording-quality, etc. The best reviews will provide a clear sense of the music as well as communicate the album’s main ideas and place in the current musical culture. You may be technical but not obscure in your descriptions. This is being written for the general public. Your review may be positive or negative; this will not impact your grade. Your writing will. Avoid fanboy or advertising language. Avoid trashing the artist. Find your voice and display it for the reader. Needless to say, proofread it for grammar and language accuracy. No plagirism, no copy. Engaged and deeply-involved writing will do well. Disengaged or blas writing will suffer. Title your piece creatively. Submit as Word doc.
