PSYC 2103: Intro to Human Development CURRENT EVENT /KEY ISSUE ASSIGNMENT The aim of this assignment is to further develop your knowledge of developmental psychology and derive application from current events or key issues that are happening in the world around us. The assignment will be due on 2/13/2022 at 11:59 PM. Late work will NOT be accepted. Please see the instructions below in completing this assignment. 1. Find a news article relating to a social issue. Make sure that you article comes from a reputable news source. If you are unsure about those you may email me your article first for approval. • To be current, the article must be published within 2 years of the assignment date (so from 1/1/2020 until now). 2. Give the name of the source (must be from a newspaper, news magazine, or news website) date, name of the article, author (if given), and page number (if given). • You must provide all necessary information listed to receive full credit. 3. In your own words, summarize the information in the article, citing at least 5 specific ideas or facts. 4. Explain the issue/event presented in the article. Make sure that you fully relate the news article to an issue or concept we have discussed in class. 5. The assignment must be typed, double-spaced, grammatically correct, and between 1-2 pages in length. (Anything less than 1 full page will have points deducted.
