Read the article related to toxic masculinity provided in the lesson folder. Watch the Gillette short film "We Believe: The Best A Man Can Be" (found in the Optional Additional Resources folder in this lesson). Address the following:
  1. Define in your own words what toxic masculinity is. Explain how it is different from more generic definitions of masculinity. (NOTE: toxic masculinity and masculinity are NOT the same things).
  2. Explain a time that you have witnessed toxic masculinity. This may be in your own life or from television, film, commercials, social media, etc.
  3. After reading Chapter 6, what suggestions or tactics could be used to address toxic masculinity? Use specific examples.
  4. What might toxic femininity look like? How might lessons from Chapter 6 help us address that?
